Parson Street is a school with a distinctive character, an ambitious vision and an extraordinary sense of community. We are a place where children are known as individuals. Here, relationships are built on mutual respect and a genuine sense of belonging underpins everything we do.

There is a warmth and energy to our school that is immediately apparent when you walk through our doors. It is this combination of ambition, compassion and togetherness that makes Parson Street such a special place to learn, work and grow, and I am enormously proud to lead this community.

At the heart of our school is the unwavering belief that every child deserves an exceptional education. We make no apology for our high expectations, nor for our determination to ensure that every pupil, regardless of their  starting point, is given the opportunity to flourish. We believe that children are capable of extraordinary things when they are inspired, challenged and supported by adults who believe wholeheartedly in their potential.

Our curriculum reflects this ambition. Carefully designed to develop knowledge, deepen understanding and ignite curiosity, it provides children with a rich and purposeful education that extends far beyond the classroom. We want our pupils to become articulate, thoughtful and inquisitive learners who embrace challenge and approach the world with confidence. Equally, we believe that education should be filled with joy, discovery and memorable experiences.

Childhood is precious, and we are committed to ensuring that the years children spend at Parson Street are as enriching and exciting as they are academically rewarding.

What I value most about our school, however, is the strength of our relationships and the culture we have created together. We are proudly inclusive, and we see the individuality of every child as something to be celebrated. Our children are encouraged to develop a strong sense of identity, to appreciate the perspectives of others and to recognise the contribution they can make to their community. Children here know that they matter and visitors frequently comment on the calm, purposeful atmosphere within our school. 

Our Learning Gems are central to this philosophy. More than a collection of values, they provide a shared language through which we nurture the character, confidence, resilience and attitudes which enable children to succeed.  Ultimately, our aspiration is not simply to prepare children for the next stage of their education, but to equip them with the knowledge, character and self-belief to lead fulfilling lives and make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.

Of course, a school is only ever as strong as the people who bring it to life. I am exceptionally proud of our dedicated and talented staff, whose commitment to our children is evident in everything they do. We are a team that holds itself to high professional standards, embraces reflection and improvement, and recognises the importance of supporting and celebrating one another.

Our families and wider community are fundamental to our identity. We are proud of the diversity, experiences and perspectives that enrich our community, and we recognise the privilege and responsibility that comes with being entrusted with a child’s education.
