Computing and E-safety

At Parson Street Primary School, our computing curriculum is designed to equip children with the digital knowledge and skills they need for the future. We use the National Centre for Computing Education Teach Computing Curriculum, which provides high-quality, research-informed lessons that cover computer science, information technology and digital literacy across Key Stages 1 and 2. These resources support progressive learning and help children develop problem-solving, creativity and confidence with technology.

Online safety is a key priority and an important part of our safeguarding approach. We teach e-safety from EYFS – Y6 using Project Evolve and reinforce this learning through our Jigsaw PSHE programme. This helps pupils understand how to navigate the online world responsibly, recognise potential risks and know how to seek help if something worries them, enabling them to become safe, respectful and responsible digital citizens.
Our e-safety online overview from Reception – Year 6 can be found here: Project Evolve E-safety Curriculum

Our staff receive regular safeguarding training related to online safety. This ensures staff remain up to date with current guidance, emerging technologies and new online risks that children may encounter. Our training is responsive to national guidance and developments in the digital world, enabling staff to confidently support pupils, respond to concerns and maintain a safe online learning environment for all children.
